Verify HTTPS Connections are Filtered

In order to prove if HTTPS filtering was indeed activated, navigate to any HTTPS site (like for example google.com) and make sure your browser shows the following warning. This warning means Squid was able to bump SSL connection, filtered it and encrypted in again using Web Safety’s generated certificate.

After certificate is installed as indicated in the Install Trusted Certificates article the warnings on HTTPS filtered sites should disappear. Please note the sites are now signed by Squid proxy certificate and not by original certificate of the site owner.

The following screenshots show SSL bumped connections to Google search page.

If you try to search Google with some adult only terms (e.g. NSFW) Web Safety will block access to explicit contents showing its denied page.
